DavidDaleidenIn a outrageous act of injustice, David Daleiden has been indicted in the purchase or sale of human organs while Planned Parenthood remains free of charges.

Daleiden is 27 year old investigative reporter who exposed Planned Parenthood's involvement in selling body parts of aborted babies through a series of undercover investigative videos. The videos capture conversations with high level Planned Parenthood employees discussing how they harvest organs from aborted babies, changing abortion procedures at times to obtain better specimens, and discussing prices.

I have not met Daleiden personally, but I have heard him speak in a number of interiews. He is an impressive and well grounded Christian young man. I heard him just last week at the Evangelicals for Life Conference in Washington D.C. where he was interviewed by Russell Moore, President of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention & Jim Daly, President and CEO of Focus on the Family. I want to share with you some of the things he had to say and urge you to pray for and support this young man who is taking a brave and costly stand to protect the lives of unborn babies.

Asked what drove him to do the undercover investigation, Daleiden said of the unborn, "Their humanity is not considered equal to our own, [but] their humanity is precisely what makes them valuable as body parts for medical research." That inconsistency is one he felt needed to be addressed and exposed.

Daleiden has been accused of lying and using underhanded means by some. He responds that "the purpose of undercover work is to discover and expose Truth. We know that Jesus often taught using parables. He communicated truth in creative ways. Video are a similar means of communication in our day.

Planned Parenthood has sued Daleiden because of the videos. He states simply, "They don't like that they got caught."

Moore commented that "people are affronted by the casual atmosphere of PPL employees eating salads and talking about livers and "crushing above, crushing below" (referencing a quote from the first video). He suggested that it must be difficult to be present in those conversations and asked Daleiden, "How do you prepare for this journey?"

Daleiden response says a lot about the level of his faith. "That human being who is doing monstrous things is still a human being with a soul. They are lost forever without Christ. "In the conversations many of the people interviewed shared that they too have grieved over aborted baby parts just as we have. Daleiden sees his contacts with those he is investigating as "carrying the gospel to the existential margins of society"—those who do the work of providing abortions.

Reflecting on his own generation's response to abortion, Daleiden said "we've been a little lied to." He went on to explain what he meant by that: "We've grown up learning about historic injustices...people bought and sold in our country's history. In 2016 we are still buying and selling body parts and people." Daleiden holds hope that his generation will change things. "Millennials are energized and ready to act to change the culture. They need only to be informed and educated."

Responding to the charges by Planned Parenthood that the videos were highly edited and are not true, Daleiden responds that "all news reports are edited in some way. We have been more transparent than anyone in releasing full footage."

Daleiden asked for prayers for wisdom and courage for all those in CMP (Center for Medical Progress) who are involved in the lawsuits and for God's grace. He needs our prayers now more than ever. Please pray for him and if you can give to support his legal defense (Thomas More Society) please do that too! This is a young Christian brother who has risked all in obedience to God's call on his life. How can we do less than to stand with him in his hour of need?
